As enterprising as he is known to be and always for his people, Aidrin Basilio Soares, the former Corporator of Panjim, thought of doing something different for the people of the City Corporation of Panjim. Realizing that locals leave the State for better prospects, and outsiders make Goa their home and start businesses like restaurants here, he decided why not he start one by himself. And having his own place, this is how the beautifully designed Café Basilio’s Restaurant & Bar came to be on 7’ September, 2011. It was inaugurated in the distinguished presence of Sr. Superintendent Bombay High Court, Mrs. Catherine Soares on the 70th BirthAnniversary of Basilio Soares.

One of the better restaurants in the State with its wide array of Goan cuisine, it serves local delights like Goan Fish Curry Rice (Thali) at lunch, Chicken Xacuti, Chicken Cafreal with Chips (Speciality), Goan Chicken Chilly, Goan Mutton Xacuti, Mutton Chilly, Chicken Vindaloo, Prawn Vindaloo, Squids Masala, Squids Butter Garlic, Squids Chilli Fry, Mussels Rawa Fry, Mussel Masala, Prawns Rawa Fry, Prawn Masala, Prawn Chilli Fry, Basilio’s Special Prawn Curry Rice (Special Rice with Prawn Curry and seven pieces of Rawa Fry or Rechado Fry), Kingfish Curry Rice, Modso Rawa Fry, Modso Masala, Pomfret Rawa, Pomfret Tandoor (Speciality), Prawn Balchao, Fish Balchao, Tamuso Rawa Fry, Tamuso Masala, Chonak Rawa Fry and Chonak Masala.

There is pão on demand, otherwise chappatis are served in accordance to the order placed. The restaurant also serves Chinese, Indian and Tandoor cuisine. Veg as well as Non-veg food is available here. There is a well-stocked bar which is exquisitely done up. Not to miss are the balconies where you can snack or dine with a lovely view and natural breeze wafting in. The soothing soft music will keep you in a good mood. The spacious Restaurant & Bar has a sitting capacity of seventy people. Small occasions can be celebrated here. It is an ideal place for the fitness freaks after their work-out at the nearby Basilios 7 Health Club, can come here for a bite or drink.

Café Basilios Restaurant & Bar is open Tuesday to Sunday from 10am to 12 noon for breakfast, from 11am to 3pm for Lunch and from 7pm to 11pm for Dinner.
